Planning the resort is only one aspect of planning a memorable island vacation. All Inclusive resorts are awesome, but I always recommend booking at least one excursion to see the island. I feel visiting a new country without getting out and seeing what makes the island special means you missed out. Time is valuable and it’s possible you’ll never make it back to the destination you are visiting. See the island and take in the culture. Say hi to the locals. Visit some of the local shops and buy a souvenir. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and life live!
Simple things like taking a taxi in to town for shopping can really make your vacation. While in Ocho Rios we went out and visited some local bars. We met the nicest people and had a great time. I’ve done some incredible things that I never thought I would do. Cliff diving at Rick’s Cafe in Negril, swimming with sharks, parasailing, and scuba diving just to name a few. Traveling is amazing! You learn something new about yourself and the destination you are visiting. Go for it!
